Teen Self-Regulation Support in Moncton

Teenagers are managing school demands, changing routines, social pressure, performance expectations, sleep disruption, and growing independence—all while learning how to regulate stress and make health decisions for themselves.

Andrew Maillet offers collaborative naturopathy and hypnotherapy support for teens age 13 and older. Sessions focus on practical skills for stress, test anxiety, sleep, confidence, performance, habits, and sustainable healthy routines. Care is adapted to the teen's goals, readiness, and developmental needs.

Fee-for-service care

Teen Self-Regulation is offered visit-by-visit rather than as a fixed program.

  • Initial naturopathic consultation: 60 minutes · $179.99
  • Follow-up naturopathy or clinical hypnotherapy: 45 minutes · $144.99

The first visit clarifies goals, health history, current supports, consent, privacy expectations, and whether this service is an appropriate fit. Follow-up frequency is adjusted to the teen's needs and response.

What sessions are like

Sessions are practical and collaborative. Depending on the goal, they may include education, clinical hypnotherapy, guided imagery, breathing or HeartMath/HRV practice, sleep and routine planning, and small between-session experiments.

Hypnotherapy is not mind control. The teen remains aware, can speak, and can stop or change an exercise at any time. A session should never depend on forcing disclosure or participation.

Parents, consent, and privacy

A parent or guardian is involved in consent and planning where required. The teen's assent, comfort, and voice also matter. Before care begins, Andrew explains what can remain private, what may be shared with a parent or guardian, and the safety situations that require information to be shared or additional help to be involved.

A parent or guardian may join part of a visit when useful, while some conversation may occur privately when appropriate. Administrative and legal consent requirements are confirmed before the first appointment.

Healthy eating, exercise, and weight-related goals

Support centres on regular eating, body-respectful habits, enjoyable movement, sleep, energy, and realistic routines—not rapid weight change, restrictive diets, weigh-ins as a measure of worth, or appearance promises.

Rapid weight change, significant food restriction, bingeing or purging, fainting, compulsive exercise, body-image distress, suspected eating-disorder symptoms, or other medical concerns require assessment and coordinated care from the appropriate medical and mental-health professionals.

When another service is needed

This service is not emergency or crisis care and does not replace a family physician, pediatric provider, psychologist, psychiatrist, or school-based support. Severe depression, self-harm or suicide risk, psychosis, abuse or safety concerns, an eating disorder, substance dependence, or significant functional decline requires timely assessment from the appropriate provider.

Frequently asked questions

Does a parent attend the whole appointment?

Not necessarily. The plan is discussed in advance. A parent or guardian may join portions that support history, consent, and home planning, with appropriate private conversation for the teen.

Can hypnotherapy help with exams or sport performance?

It may support preparation, confidence, attention, and regulation. It does not guarantee grades or performance outcomes.

Can sessions be virtual?

Virtual care may be appropriate for some teens and goals. Privacy, consent, location, and safety arrangements are confirmed first.

What if my teen does not want hypnotherapy?

It is optional. Other supportive approaches may be used, or another provider may be a better fit. Participation should be collaborative.
