Concussion and mTBI support
Assessment-first guidance for concussion recovery questions.
Concussion symptoms can affect thinking, balance, sleep, mood, vision, activity tolerance, and daily routine. This page is designed to help clients in Moncton understand safe next steps and when to involve medical or emergency care.

Who this page is for
- People who have been told they may have a concussion or mild traumatic brain injury.
- Clients with lingering symptoms who want help understanding appropriate next steps.
- Parents, athletes, students, workers, or active adults seeking careful recovery planning.
- Anyone unsure whether they should seek urgent care, physician assessment, or supportive wellness care.
What to do first
- Seek emergency care for red flags such as worsening headache, repeated vomiting, seizure, confusion, weakness, slurred speech, or loss of consciousness.
- Arrange physician or nurse practitioner assessment after a suspected concussion, especially before returning to sport, work, or demanding activity.
- Reduce symptom-provoking activity early on and follow medical guidance for return-to-learn, return-to-work, or return-to-play decisions.
- Call the centre if you need help deciding which supportive service may fit once urgent and medical needs are addressed.
Care planning
Supportive care with clear boundaries
Concussion care should be individualized and coordinated with appropriate healthcare providers. Wellness services can be supportive, but they should not replace medical assessment or emergency care.
Symptom-informed pacing
Care planning may consider sleep, stress, activity tolerance, headaches, neck tension, and gradual return to routine.
Multidisciplinary support
Massage therapy, osteopathy, acupuncture, counselling, or naturopathy may be considered for selected goals when appropriate.
Referral awareness
If symptoms suggest vestibular, vision, neurological, or medical needs, referral or medical follow-up may be recommended.

Questions
Concussion support FAQs
Is Naturology Centre an emergency or diagnostic service for concussion?
No. Suspected concussion, worsening symptoms, or red flags should be assessed by appropriate medical or emergency providers.
Can I return to sport right away?
Return-to-play decisions should follow medical guidance and a gradual process. Do not return to sport with worsening symptoms or without appropriate clearance when required.
Can supportive care help with neck tension or stress after concussion?
Some supportive services may help selected goals such as tension, stress, sleep routines, or adjustment. The right approach depends on assessment and medical guidance.
